Rapid breaks its own record in United Kingdom

In 2009, the Rapid seed drill broke its own record on the British market. With 290 Rapid drills sold, sales exceeded last year’s all-time high.

Against the background of a global financial crisis, low grain prices and a harsh, biting economic headwind for agriculture, these Rapid sales figures indicate a strong belief in the quality and versatility of Rapid

More from the family
Within the seed drill category, Rapid wears the leader’s jersey and continues to break its own records. It is receiving increasing back-up from the growing numbers of Spirit, Seed Hawk and CarrierDrill machines that have made their way to British farms.

Real figures at show
In June, a Rapid 600F from 2001 formed the centrepiece of the Väderstad stand at the Cereals agricultural show. There, it acted as the perfect starting point for fruitful discussions with visitors on the actual costs of owning a Rapid, with real figures from past and present owners.

Long-lasting value
The figures showed that everyone is a winner. This Rapid drill, built with the focus on functionality and material quality, has been used flexibly and in all conditions on many hectares without the maintenance costs escalating. The annual service has been taken care of by a local dealer, who used original parts when anything needed replacement. That gave a good second-hand value for the first owner. However, it also gave the next owner an 8-year-old Rapid in top form that could cope with many more thousands of hectares.

Quick progress
At Cereals, the Rapid from 2001 was placed beside a new Rapid from 2009. This clearly illustrated the fast development and the considerable changes that have taken place over the past eight years. These improvements have made the Rapid seed drill even more cost-effective and sharper in the field. That in turn increases the demand for new and used machines. In times when margins are slim, money must be placed where it brings the greatest benefits and provides the highest return on investment – e.g. in a record-breaking Rapid seed drill.
