The new stop wheel Väderstad ProStop is designed with rubber spokes to absorb external pressure in its core. Thereby the precise profile of the stop wheel is not impacted when running in the seed furrow.
– The new Väderstad ProStop stop wheel is designed to flex in its core. This means that the contact between the stop wheel and the seed is never affected. ProStop maintains the important seed-to-soil contact, whilst minimising sidewall compactions in the seed furrow, says Mattias Hovnert, Senior vice president Sales & Marketing, at Väderstad, and adds:
– The result is seen in an even emergence and great yield potential over the entire field.
The main task of a stop wheel is to ensure an optimal seed-to-soil contact, by precisely placing each seed at the bottom of the seed furrow. When meeting external forces, a traditional stop wheel absorbs chocks by slightly flattening its outer wheel profile. This jeopardizes its ability to deliver seed-to-soil contact, while also creating sidewall compactions in the seed furrow.
– Since the new Väderstad ProStop wheel absorbs chocks in its core instead of its outer wheel profile, it is able to increase planting performance even further. Like the Tempo planter, ProStop is designed to deliver excellent results at very high planting speed, says Mattias Hovnert, at Väderstad, and adds:
– ProStop seamlessly works together with the Tempo seed meter to give the seed optimal conditions for growth.
The new Väderstad ProStop stop wheel will be available as an option for all Tempo planters, from June 2020. In addition, ProStop will be available to retrofit on all Tempo models from model year 2020.
