Poul was elected to the Board of Directors of Väderstad at the Annual shareholders’ meeting on 15 February. He has been active in the agricultural sector in the UK since 1987, where he currently manages three major farming companies and at the same time owns and operates a larger agricultural enterprise in northern Poland.
–“We are delighted at Poul’s appointment to our Board. Our collaboration began in the early 1990s when Poul was involved in Väderstad’s work on precision cultivation techniques. With his international industry experience, I am convinced that he will bring very valuable expertise to our continued global expansion,” says Crister Stark, Chairman of the Board and co-owner.
Poul Hovesen was born in Denmark and moved to Norfolk in the east of England in 1987, where he was responsible for Salle Farms Company. In 2011, he was appointed Director of Farming at Holkham Farming Company and recently appointed as Consultant for The Raynham Farm Co. Poul has also held various advisory roles and memberships, including within Morley Research and Agri-Tech East Stakeholder Group. In 2014, he received the Farmer of the Year Award and last year he was elected to the Royal Agricultural Society for his work within the industry.
–“Over the years I have had the privilege of working with creative and innovative farmers, researchers and international companies like Väderstad. Together we have both a practical and theoretical basis for creating new agricultural practices and technologies for the future. My ambition is to help ensure that we remain at the forefront of machine and method development for agriculture,” says Poul.
