Väderstad, one of the world’s leading companies in soil cultivation and seeding technology, is strengthening its Board of Directors with Danish-British agricultural specialist Poul Hovesen. Poul has been praised for his efforts in British agriculture and has been collaborating with Väderstad since the 1990s. With his extensive experience in the industry and his deep commitment to sustainability issues, Poul is a strong external addition to the group.
Swedish agricultural machinery manufacturer Väderstad finished the decade on a high, recording a turnover during the 2019 financial year of SEK 3.35 billion and an operating profit of SEK 172 million. That represents an increase in turnover of 11 percent and an increase in earnings of almost 24 percent on the previous year.
In 2019, Väderstad will extend the CrossCutter Disc range with a new disc adapted for the disc cultivator Väderstad Carrier XL 425-625. CrossCutter Disc will make Carrier XL deliver full cultivation at a working depth of only 3-5cm.
At Agritechnica 2019, Väderstad, the Swedish specialist in soil cultivation and seeding technology, handed over the Tempo V 12 high-speed precision planter to Stefan Kürbs from the agricultural services Kürbs in Apolda near Weimar. One of the Väderstad owners and "father" of many innovative developments, Crister Stark, was also present at the handover.
The Tempo has been built in Väderstad, Sweden, since 2012. Since April 2017, the Tempo has held the world record with speeds over 20 km/h (502.05 ha in 24 hours) at maize sowing.
Väderstad introduces the new DeepLoosening Marathon point. The subsoiling DeepLoosening Marathon point, adds breaking capacity down to 40cm depth for the TopDown and Opus cultivators.
With focus set on user-friendliness and operating performance, Väderstad introduces a new integrated portal for making updated instruction manuals and QuickStart movies easily accessible offline in the field.
In 2019 the Väderstad SeedEye system has been tested and reviewed by the German Agricultural Society DLG with excellent results. During 2020 the unique precision system Väderstad SeedEye is introduced for seed drills Spirit R 300S, Spirit 600-900C/S as well as Rapid A 600-800C/J.
Väderstad launches a new version of NZ Mounted. Thereby the mounted tine harrow is upgraded with a new 6-metre model, as well as a reinforced frame and a unique versatile drawbar.
The awards are coming thick and fast for agricultural machinery manufacturer Väderstad at the moment. Last week they received the ‘Machine of the Year’ award at the world’s largest agricultural exhibition. Now they have also been named ‘Employer Branding Company of the Year’ by research company Universum. At the same time, they also received the ‘Career Company of the Year 2020’ seal of approval and climbed into the top 15 in a national poll of ‘Sweden’s best employers’.
