The whole agricultural sector is currently struggling. Grain prices have declined, interest rates are high, uncertainty and volatility has increased due to geopolitical conflicts and climate changes. Väderstad is no exception.
But looking ahead, we still see a positive long-term development for agriculture as a whole and for Väderstad as a company. To ensure a production capacity that goes hand in hand with demand, the expansion of the factory in Väderstad by another 12 600 square meters was started in 2023.
– The continued expansion of our factory in Väderstad is in line with our long-time growth targets, and will benefit both our customers, our dealers and over time help create more job opportunities – as well as create a more efficient flow in our production, says Henrik Gilstring, CEO of Väderstad Group.
Now the construction work is completed, and the work starts to install and fill our new premises with new assembly lines for Proceed and the Tempo product family, and a brand-new paintwork station. Everything is planned to be in full use in 2025.
– We have launched several new products in the last couple of years like our new Proceed V 24 and Seed Hawk 600-900C for the European and international markets, which both go into production in 2025. This factory expansion will help us face the demand for these products and several others, says Mikael Peiponen, Senior Vice President of Order to Delivery at Väderstad.
The factory in Väderstad currently produces machines for all global sales regions, except from North America where the main part of our production is focused to our factories in Langbank, Canada and Wahpeton, USA.
With the completion of the factory extension, the site in Väderstad will have a total production area of approximately 70 000 m2.
