In 1962 Rune Stark and his wife Siw founded Rune's Mekaniska Verkstad (Mechanical Workshop). The rest is agricultural history. Rune passed away in 2008, but his memory lives on strongly and today, March 4, 2021, he would have turned 100.

Despite a year heavily marked by Covid-19 and two extra weeks of production stoppages, Väderstad reaches a new record turnover of SEK 3.4 billion and improves earnings by 23 percent compared to the previous year.

In 2021, Väderstad takes the next step for the high-speed Tempo planter by introducing a new model to the Tempo L family. The all-new Tempo L 32 will be the largest Tempo planter to date. 

Väderstad introduces the new 80/120mm point, built in high-quality Swedish steel. The 80/120mm point delivers an aggressive cultivation, combined with a very intensive mixing. It can be fitted to the tine cultivators Cultus, Opus and TopDown.

Väderstad updates the pneumatic seed drill Spirit 400C/S, to provide added benefits in the farm. The new Spirit 400C/S brings great seeding precision, user-friendly electronics and a high field performance to the 4-metre seed drill segment.

Väderstad, one of the world’s leading companies in soil cultivation and seeding technology, is preparing for its upcoming CEO succession. In February 2022, Henrik Gilstring will take over as President and CEO. Henrik represents the third generation of the owner family and is currently part of Group Management.

Väderstad’s SeedEye system has been awarded with the gold medal for innovative agricultural machinery at Agrosalon 2020 - the largest agricultural exhibition in Russia.

In October, Väderstad’s new high technology material lab will open in Överum.
